About The Artist – Katwish is Katie Griffiths!

Bespoke portraits on commission. Artworks on canvas of children, pets and flamboyant individuals! Working with oil paints, textile sculpture and acrylic paint, I bring my experience of the stage and prop making to my portraits, adding flair and imagination. Check out my website and social media for latest updates. Each new commission is exciting and fun!

I am also working in collaboration with stencil artist @sicandotoo. Together, we create powerful works bursting with energy and colour. Have a look at the image, “Down in the Garden”.

Works on canvas can be made to any size. We make murals and can integrate them with mosaics. Please take a look at my gallery on the katwish website.

Background: I was co-founder of the puppet company, “Wishworks” touring shows and running workshops for children. I also worked in community art, constructing giant costumes and sculpture.

About The Artist

I studied fine art for four years at Manchester and Sunderland Colleges of Art, followed by one year at Leeds College of Art ( art teachers’ diploma ).
Subseqently, I spent many years teaching Art to A Level in grammar and independent schools, before taking early retirement.

My work is extremely varied, mainly in oils and acrylic, ranging from purely figurative to totally abstract. I tend to work in series, developing an idea, where one painting leads to another, before perhaps moving on to something quite different.

Over the years, I have exhibited in Newcastle on Tyne, Oxford, as well as various venues in Surrey and the paintings shown here represent only a SMALL cross-section of my work.

I welcome any enquiries and will happily e-mail a wide range of images of my work, to any interested party.

About The Artist

Romy Rey is a Swiss Artist located in Richmond, Surrey (West London), who questions one’s perception of reality. Some of her paintings are a re-interpretation of landscapes she has visited during her extensive travels, others render familiar elements in variable scales and combinations or portray striking images of ancient or tribal objects in imaginary settings.

Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Romy studied in Paris and Geneva and settled in England where she worked as a translator and a partner in bookshops before becoming a painter.

Her work is broken down into four categories –  Ancient and Tribal, Geometrics, Dreamscapes and Landscapes. Romy’s work has been displayed in galleries throughout the UK. Private Colllections are also held in the UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.

About The Artist

Hildegarde was born on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, Northern Cape Province, South Africa.

She studied Social Science at the University of the Orange Free State, but has always been passionately involved in painting. She came to the UK in the “Sixties”, is married with two children, and lives in Surrey where she teaches and paints in her Studio in Molesey.

Hildegarde is primarily a “Colourist”. Her work is much influenced by her roots and she brings warmth and vibrancy into her paintings where with gay abandon uses colour and paint in a way that has been described as, “delightfully sensual”. Whether tackling cluttered Still Lifes of everyday objects, or landscapes of Southern Africa and Europe, she delights in depicting the effects of light and dark. The “Impressionists” and “Scottish Colourists” have had a major influence on her work. Although mainly an oil painter, Hildegarde also uses watercolour and mixed media.

Of Painting as an activity, she says “No matter how demanding painting can sometimes be, it always fills me with a huge sense of satisfaction and joy. In painting I escape into a World of my own, where I can revel in creating images with colour, shape and form.”

Galleries and Exhibitions

Hildegarde has sold to clients world-wide. Her paintings are represented by Art Galleries in London and South Africa. Her work is regularly exhibited with the Chelsea Art Society, and has been represented at the Affordable Art, and Battersea Art Fairs . In September 2007 she was Guest Artist for “The Family Law in Partnership”, Bedford Chambers, Covent Garden, London, and exhibited in May 2008 hanging at the Royal British Artists Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. One of her works, “Daffodils” was recently auctioned at the Royal Academy on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Research.

Painting Commissions

Hildegarde undertakes commissions for Still Lifes incorporating client’s colour schemes and precious possessions as well as painting private homes and gardens.

Art Talks & Demonstrations / Art Tutor - Including Cruise Liners

Hildegarde regularly runs painting workshops and demonstrations for a number of Art Societies and exhibits both in South Africa and England. She has sold to clients world-wide. For the last four years Hildegarde has been a watercolour instructor for major Cruise Lines.

Art Groups

Hildegarde is a member of Molesey Art Society, Chelsea Art Society, Sunbury on Thames Art Society & Thames Valley Art Society and Weybridge Art Society.
