Enjoying art from an early age, he undertook a six-month course in Kenya before embarking on a varied career in business. The late 1990’s brought a less hectic lifestyle and the time to rediscover his interest in art.
During this period, he explored a wide variety of subjects and media and found inspiration in the work of Frank Webb in the style of design impressionism, mostly in watercolour.
He is now painting regularly and over recent years has particularly enjoyed working in mixed media, finding the freedom offered by this medium more suited to his personality and style.
Typically he applies a collage of paper to the image surface before and during the application of paint which adds depth and texture to the finished piece.
Currently residing in Surrey, Nagib is a member of the Dorking Group of Artists and the Guildford Art Society and exhibits regularly in the area. He is also on the team at Buckingham Fine Art Publishers Ltd and is represented in galleries throughout the UK.

I have always found great comfort in the landscape, an association or strong alliance between myself and the land travelled. I have become more in tune with the ever-changing weather and seasons which so dramatically change the landscape.
My work intends to be a reaction or conjure a deep response to the essence of a place. Some of my work is instinctive drawing ‘en plien aire’ while other work derives from a memory or instinctive reaction to a place visited. One could say it is the energy and spirit of a place or landscape which is filtered directly into my work.
Often the work is inspired from fast, compositional studies drawn in situ, which starts the process of understanding the place. Some of these places and landscapes I re-visit time and again and it is through my exploration and adventure that I have developed a deeper understanding of the place.
I am a self-taught painter, who completed degrees in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. This interest and passion in the natural and man-made environment has formed the basis for my work.
Currently ‘Head of Creative Arts’ at Priors Field School, Godalming.
Member of the Guildford Art Society, Farnham Arts Society and Haslemere Art Society.
Five Exhibitions have been held in West London and I have recently started to exhibit again after bringing up a young family and focusing on my teaching career. I exhibited in three joint exhibitions this year.

John Hart Mills (1936-2019) grew up in London. On completing school, he entered the book trade, studying art part-time at London’s City and Guilds Art School, where his tutors included the sculptor Reg Butler. His interest in music led him to attend the London College of Music, where one of his composition teachers was William Lloyd Webber.
His job as an international sales representative never prevented him from following his twin interests of painting and composing. His interest in oil painting manifested itself early on, especially in portraiture. His marriage to a Norwegian saw him making frequent visits to Norway, where he painted a series of watercolours that featured the natural beauty of the hills, lakes and coastal inlets to be found around Sandefjord in south Norway.
John's watercolour paintings include landscapes closer to home, as well portraits and figures.
Examples of his lyrical piano music can be found on You Tube.
